Lily's Kitchen
Gondola End Unit
Lily’s Kitchen wanted to create a standout in-store activation for their “Proper Pet Food” line at Pets at Home.
The objective was to grab attention in a busy retail environment, reinforce the brand premium positioning, and drive incremental sales beyond regular shelf space.
From the industry perspective – according to a recent review of retail displays, end-of-aisle or end-gondola displays are designed to grab the passing shopper’s attention – which is ideal for product launches, special offers and price promotions. Thus the decision was made to develop a bespoke gondola-end display unit to maximise impact.
We had the pleasure to offer and implement our end-to-end solution, from brief through to D&D to full-instore execution.
The stages of this included:
Design & Development
– We developed a custom end-gondola display tailored to the store environment of Pets at Home, sized to fit the end of the aisles while maintaining required sight-lines and traffic flow.
– The display was designed with strong brand graphics for Lily’s Kitchen: premium photography of pets and product, clean typography, distinctive colour palette to differentiate “Proper Pet Food” from other pet food tiers.
– Structural engineering to ensure stability, ease of assembly by Three Point, and compliance with retail fixture standards.
– Materials decision: robust board/printed graphics for high-impact visual. Produced mainly in steel, with card graphics and illumination and updatable video screen
Manufacturing & Printing
– We handled the full manufacturing process: fabrication of the structure, printing of large format panels with high resolution colour, lamination/protection for high footfall retail environment.
– Production was controlled for consistent brand colour, finishing quality, and readiness for high-volume roll-out across multiple store outlets.
– We designed the original concept to answers Lilys brief, developed, prototype, produced and installed.
– We also installed the graphic updates – mainly due to the lightly which PAH felt would be too much for store staff
Delivery & Installation
– Logistics planning: delivering to a selection of Pets at Home store locations across the UK in a pre-scheduled window, coordinating with store managers to minimise disruption to trading hours.
– On-site installation to mount the display, affix graphics, ensure correct positioning (end of aisle), ensure that product stock was placed appropriately.
– Post-installation quality check to guarantee that the display looked as per design, graphics aligned, surfaces free of damage, merchandise stocked.
The end-gondola placement ensured high visibility – passing shoppers confronted the display at the end of aisle traffic flows, which is known to drive attention and impulse behaviour. This premium design reinforced Lily’s Kitchen’s brand equity and helped differentiate the “Proper Pet Food” line from standard offerings in the pet food category.
From a retail-execution point of view, the project demonstrated seamless coordination: design > manufacture > print > delivery > installation in full.
When the unit went live in stores – we noticed a lot of social media buzz and attention around it, and we were pleased to hear that footfall traffic instore increased too!
The fixture was refreshed with new graphics across future campaigns, offering repeat-use value for the retailer and brand.
The unit was a great testament to Lily’s Kitchen branding, and we look forward to our continued collaboration with the Lily’s Kitchen team!
