Ferrero Multi-Brand Impulse Cheek Panels

Kinder Bueno and TicTac instore activation

In the competitive “grab-and-go” environment of servicing station sites – maximizing every inch of retail real estate is critical.
We collaborated with Ferrero to design and deploy a dual-brand retail solution for two brands – Kinder Bueno and Tic Tac across motorway & train service stations, Roadchef, and WHSmith service site and stores.

The goal was to transform underutilised space on the sides of existing gondola ends into high-performing impulse zones. By managing the project from initial concept through to nationwide installation, we provided a seamless, one-stop-shop execution for two of Ferrero’s most iconic impulse brands.
The challenge was to create a slimline, durable unit that could house two very different product formats – chocolate bars and small mint containers, all whilst maintaining a cohesive brand experience.

We delivered four key objectives with this project roll-out, comprising of:

Unlocking “dead space”
– The Cheek Panel strategy: By engineered panels that attach directly to the sides of standard shelving units, we unlocked prime retail space at the highest-traffic points of the store – the aisle ends
– Impulse interception: These units act as a final touchpoint for shoppers by catching their attention at the transition between aisles and the checkout path.

Bespoke brand execution
– Kinder Bueno units: Designed to house both standard bars and “Nutella & Go” formats, these panels utilise vibrant red-and-white branding with integrated wire shelving for easy restocking and high visibility.
– Tic Tac units: Featuring a specialised clear acrylic tiered dispenser, these panels allow for a variety of Tic Tac flavours to be showcased in a compact, vertical format. The high-clarity acrylic ensures the vibrant product colours drive shopper interest.
– Universal fitment: We developed a flexible mounting system that allows these panels to be securely retrofitted to a variety of existing gondola architectures across the Roadchef estate.

Durability for high-footfall environments
– Robust materials: Built for the rigors of 24/7 service stations, the units use a combination of metal frames, high-impact plastics, and scratch-resistant graphics to ensure they stand the test of time.
– Factory-assembled: To minimise disruption on-site, units were fully assembled and quality-checked in our facility before being dispatched for installation.

Seamless nationwide rollout: Managing two brands across a nationwide network requires meticulous project management. Our team handled every detail to ensure Ferrero’s vision was realised consistently at every site.
– Project management: We coordinated between brand managers and site operators to ensure the rollout met strict marketing windows.
– Professional installation: Our dedicated teams managed the delivery and precision installation, ensuring each unit was safely secured and positioned for maximum shopper impact.
– Consistent quality: By manufacturing and assembling in-house, we ensured that the Kinder Bueno and Tic Tac units met the exact same premium standards across the entire country.

The Ferrero Cheek Panel project has successfully redefined the shopper journey in the travel retail sector. The activation delivered significant uplifts in impulse sales, enhanced the shopper experience, and provided the sites with a long-term retail asset.
