Debenhams UK roll-out

To elevate the presence of the Ferrero Praline collection within the competitive department store environment, we were commissioned to create a premium, glorified retail unit for Debenhams.
The objective was to design a display that mirrored the luxury and gold-standard reputation of the Ferrero brand while providing a highly functional, 360-degree shopping experience.

By managing the entire project lifecycle, we ensured that the final units were delivered with consistent quality across the UK estate, meeting the high visual merchandising standards required by both Ferrero and Debenhams.
The unit was engineered to be more than just a shelf; it was designed as a brand beacon within high-footfall areas with three key highlights:

  1. Robust structural integrity
    – Woodwork Fire Rated construction: To ensure the unit could withstand the rigors of a busy department store and the weight of bulk chocolate products, we utilised a Fire Rated wooden structure with clear plastic inlays to protect and enhance the finish of the woodwork along with detachable skirts to enable staff to lock the castors in place (to stop the unit from moving around). This provides exceptional stability and ensures the unit stands the test of time.
    – Curved aesthetics: The structural metal was finished with elegant, radiused corners and a tiered shelving system, softening the industrial strength of the material to align with Ferrero’s premium branding.
  1. Premium finishes & branding
    – Gold satin finish: The shelving and uprights were finished in a bespoke gold powder coating, specifically colour-matched to the iconic Ferrero Rocher foil
    – Header: The unit is crowned with a bold, 3D Ferrero logo. The header was designed to be visible from across the store, drawing customers toward the “Golden Gallery.
    – Marble-effect base: The plinth features a high-end white marble finish, grounding the unit in a luxury aesthetic that fits seamlessly into the Debenhams “Beauty and Gift” floor environment.
  1. 360-degree merchandising
    – Multi-format display: The unit was developed to house various packaging formats – from the iconic pyramids and large gift boxes to smaller seasonal praline – ensuring maximum stock density without looking cluttered
    – The “Glorifier” element: Dedicated acrylic pedestals on the top tier highlight hero products, treating the chocolates like jewellery rather than standard groceries.

By leveraging our one-stop-shop capabilities, we navigated the complexities of a nationwide rollout with precision.
Firstly, with development and prototyping – we moved quickly from initial design concepts to a fully functional prototype, ensuring all load-bearing requirements were met before mass production.

Secondly, with Nationwide installation – our logistics team coordinated the delivery and installation across the UK Debenhams estate, ensuring each unit was positioned for maximum impact and immediate trade.
Lastly, the commercial impact – the resulting activation provided Ferrero with a permanent, high-end shop-in-shop feel, significantly increasing brand visibility and driving impulse purchases in the gifting sector.
