Nationwide Retail Activation
Ferrero required a robust, high-impact retail solution to bring the Kinder brand to life in high-footfall leisure destinations. The objective was to create an interactive Pick ‘n’ Mix station that allowed customers to select their favourite Kinder Minis in a fun, self-service format.
With a rollout covering 100+ diverse sites, including major theme parks and safari parks, the units needed to be visually synonymous with the Kinder brand while being durable enough to handle thousands of daily interactions.
To meet the demands of a high-usage environment, our design team focused on a durability-first material specification without compromising the playful Kinder aesthetic.
Engineered for longevity:
– Heavy-duty metalwork: The internal chassis and base cabinet were constructed from high-grade metal, providing the necessary weight and stability for a freestanding unit in busy public spaces.
– High-impact acrylics: The gravity-fed dispensers and cup holders were fabricated from premium, food-safe clear acrylic. This ensured maximum product visibility while remaining resistant to cracking or clouding over time.
– Secure storage: The base unit features a locking double-door cabinet, allowing for easy on-site restocking and secure storage of bulk inventory.
Brand synergy & Graphics
– Signature palette: The unit utilises the iconic Kinder “Milk & White” wave aesthetic and vibrant red accents to ensure instant brand recognition from a distance.
– High-res imagery: We utilised specialised print processes on the backboard and base to showcase hyper-realistic product photography, encouraging impulse purchases.
– Instructional design: Clear “Select 20 to share” and “Please use tongs” messaging was integrated into the design to guide the user journey and maintain hygiene standards.
Global logistics & Nationwide rollout
Executing a consistent brand experience across 100 locations requires meticulous planning. Our one-stop-shop approach ensured a seamless transition from the factory floor to the retail floor.
– Manufacturing at scale: We managed the simultaneous production of all 100 units to ensure 100% uniformity in build quality and colour matching.
– Precision installation: Our specialised teams handled the delivery and installation across diverse site types – from indoor gift shops to sheltered outdoor kiosks – ensuring each unit was perfectly levelled and ready for immediate trade.
The Kinder Pick & Mix stations had proven to be a resounding success. This project stands as a testament to our long-standing collaboration with Ferrero.
