Hearts for NHS

07 May 2020

Two of the Three Point team have been making hearts for the NHS.

Charlotte has been knitting hearts for the Children’s ITU & HDU at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Hazel has

been making fabric hearts for Intensive Care Units at Glenfield Hospital and Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Charlotte's Knitted Hearts

These hearts are made in pairs, with one kept with the patient in hospital and the other for the next of

kin as a way of providing some comfort whilst the relatives aren’t able to visit their loved one.

Want to get involved? The staff on ICU would massively appreciate your help!

These are some patterns for anybody that can crochet or knit…

They need to be flat or lightly stuffed so they can be posted.

Once made please could you seal them in a plastic bag (such as a zip locked freezer bag) and then date them!

They aren’t able to be used until 72 hours after being sealed for infection control reasons.
